Idea Cellular announces investment strategic plan for 2016
Indian telecom operator Idea Cellular announced the company's investment and strategic plan for 2015, especially the Q3 of fiscal year 2016, on Thursday.
2015, Idea Cellular has integrated 32,385 cellular base stations, covering nearly 940 million Indian users with its 2G network, 340 million users with wireless broadband 3G and 4G services, and 105,000 kilometers of fiber optic network.
Idea Cellular plans to invest 2,313.5 billion rupees in Q3 of fiscal year 2016.
In Q3 2015, Idea Cellular added 3,239 2G cellular base stations and 7,678 3G+4G cellular base stations.
Currently, Idea Cellular has 122,515 2G base stations and 47,545 3G+4G base stations.
The company has increased its infrastructure capital expenditure forecast for 2016 to 75 billion rupees, mainly to speed up the deployment of 4G networks.
Idea Cellular replaced seven of its service areas with newly acquired 900MHz licensed spectrum in December 2015

Fiscal Year 2015 Q3Mobile data usage per data user increases to 653MB.
Hybrid mobile data ARPU increased from Rs 126 to Rs 145.
Non-voice revenue increased by 28.1% this quarter.
In the past year, 3G data users increased by 8.2 million, reaching 21.2 million in Q3.
Of which 55.5 million users upgraded their mobile devices (3G/4G smartphones/devices).
2015 Q2, Idea Cellular's 3G data user ARPU fell from Rs 202 to Rs 196.
However, the 3G data usage of 3G data users increased from 802MB to 866MB.
Idea Cellular’s 3G users also increased from 19.58 million to 21.19 10,000.
The number of Idea Cellular employees has also increased from 16,218 to 16,948.
