OTDR tips
1. Clean the fiber jumper connector before measurement. If the end face of the fiber jumper connector is contaminated, it will affect the life of the OTDR adapter and the test accuracy.
2. When inserting the optical fiber, keep the jumper connector perpendicular to the adapter head to prevent damage to the adapter.
3. Due to long-term use, the adapter will be contaminated, causing its connection loss to increase and affecting the test distance of the OTDR.
At this time, you can use specialUse the cleaning rod to clean the adapter and restore its test functionality.
4. Check whether there is light in the optical fiber line. If there is light in the optical fiber line, the optical module of the OTDR will be damaged. You can first use a handheld optical power meter or fiber identifier to confirm whether there is an optical signal on the optical fiber under test.
